Pioneer Post Sports Reporter Richard Martinez gives us his thoughts on the second round of the NBA Playoffs.
1 Seed Oklahoma City Thunder vs 4 seed Denver Nuggets
Prediction: Thunder in 6
The Thunder are facing a better team than their 1st round opponents. The series will be a close one, but I still think the Thunder will prevail. They will have some really good games, but they might have some where it slips away.
6 seed Minnesota Timberwolves vs 7 seed Golden State Warriors
Prediction: Warriors in 7
This will be a really close series. Minnesota dominated LeBron and the Lakers while Golden State finished off the Rockets in 7 games. The Warriors have all the experience they need. This series will go back and forth, but I still think the Warriors have what it takes to go through to the Western Conference Finals.
1 Seed Cleveland Cavaliers vs 4 seed Indiana Pacers
Prediction: Cavs in 6
Both teams had little trouble with their previous opponents. Both teams also have really good starting players that can lead their teams to victory. The battle between Darius Garland/Donovan Mitchell vs Tyrese Haliburton will be one to watch. I think the Cavs got the Pacers in 6. They move on to the next round.
2 Seed Boston Celtics vs 3 Seed New York Knicks
Prediction: Celtics in 6
The defending champs will be matched up against a strong Knicks team led by Karl Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson, and OG Anunoby, which will be a challenge for the experienced Celtics. But they do still have the star power to go through to the next round, which they will do in 6.
