Class of ‘25 SHS Senior and Ole Miss commit Landri Allee has announced she’s graduating early to attend her university to play collegiate soccer this spring.
Allee said she is graduating early so she can get a head start on the other freshmen and get used to the college athlete atmosphere.
“I’m looking forward to bonding with my new teammates, being in Oxford and training with the team,” said Allee.
Allee said her parents have been the ones to help her make this commitment.
“My parents helped because they told me to follow my heart and think about my future,” she said.
Allee said Ole Miss has always been her dream school, so the commitment was easy to make.
“They have been my dream school, and stayed as my top three school throughout my recruiting process,” she said.
Her junior year was the time she got her recruitment started, and is the same year as when she did commit.
“Leading into my junior year, I sent emails to colleges across the nation with highlight tapes and game schedules,” Allee said. “When June 16 came around, my club coach told me Ole Miss was interested and reached out to me. They stayed in contact and we had an official visit, which led to me committing the same day.”
Her head soccer coach, Coach Rivera, has been able to coach her for four years. He said it’s been a privilege to coach her.
“She’s been a great athlete and a great asset to the team, and a great leader that has started all four years,” Rivera said. “She’s also helped this program positively, and helped it grow over her four years here.”
He explained that she has a high ceiling for herself, saying she could go as far as she wants with the sport.
“Extremely high,” he said. “She can go as far as she wants to go because she has the potential.”
Her best friend and teammate Senior Karsen Cox explained how great their relationship is on and off the field.
“We have grown so close together on and off the field and have helped us play together,” she said.
Cox also described how Allee is as a soccer player, and as a friend.
“She’s a very talented player, who has a lot going on in her life,” she said. “She always keeps me on my toes, and is a very honest person that keeps pushing me every day.”
