Frank Ocean is an alternative R&B artist. He released his first album “Nostalgia, Ultra” in 2011. I found out about Frank Ocean because of his feature in the song “Analog 2” by the Odd Future, but Ocean’s album “Blonde” is my favorite album of all time.
My favorite songs on the album are “Seigfried,” “Ivy,” and “White Ferrari.” “White Ferrari” is a song that reminds me of a cool, rainy day. “White Ferrari” also talks about getting over the loss of a loved one which made me like the song more for its deep meaning. “Ivy” sounds very bittersweet and talks about heartache. You can clearly hear the emotion in “Ivy.” However, “Seigfried” is my top song on the album. The song talks about being fearful of the future and searching for a deeper connection, which I can relate to.
Blonde was Frank Ocean’s second studio album. The album was released on August 20, 2016. It consists of 17 songs and features multiple artists. The top songs on the album are “Pink + White” and “Nights.” People fell in love with the album and critics praised Frank Ocean. The album debuted number one in several countries. The album sold 275,000 copies in the first week. Time magazine named “Blonde” the best album of 2016, and Metacritic called the album one of most critically acclaimed albums of the year. “Blonde” was also named the best album of the 2010’s.
Frank Ocean’s voice took the internet by storm after his first album. He won two Grammy awards and a Brit award. According to the Hollywood reporter, Beyonce called Frank Ocean an inspiration.
I would rate the album a 10 out of 10. This album can be recommended to anyone.
