At Stillwater High School, football isn’t just a sport–it’s a way of life.
For two special members of the Pioneer family, Kit and Dylan, that sentiment is especially true. These students don’t just cheer the team on, they’re dedicated members who live and breathe the game of football.
Kit and Dylan, both students with special needs, have become beloved figures to the entire Pioneer football team as they attend practice and continually support the Pioneers every chance they get. Their passion for the game is contagious, and they leave each player with a sense of encouragement every day.
Coach Chad Cawood said having Dylan join the team for practice has been great.
“Seeing him jump in QB drills or shagging field goals was a highlight of Tuesday practice,” Cawood said. “His energy and excitement for being a part of the team was contagious.”
Kit said he dreams of playing free safety with the number 28. He is inspired by his favorite player, sophomore Peyton Campbell. Dylan said he sees himself as quarterback wearing number 7. He looks up to Mason Schubert for his leadership on the field.
Though they aren’t on the field, Kit and Dylan are an integral part of the Pioneer family, proving that football is about more than just the game—it’s about community and connection.
“Having Kit and Dylan around reminds us why we love the game,” senior corner P.J. Garcia said.
