Stillwater High School Secretary Amy Hoffman has a fun hobby she loves to do in her free time outside of school.
For 30 years now, Ms. Hoffman has been bowling and enjoys getting to do it. Even though she just retired from the sport over the summer, she will always love the memories and people from it.
“I loved getting to hang out with my friends and travel,” she said. “I also learned how to do a cool shot where you hook it making it look like a curveball.”
Ms. Hoffman is also an active sponsor of the Bowling Club and enjoys getting to help out.
“Bowling club is doing good,” she said. “We had four students to start out, and those four joined the bowling team.”
Just like every sport, she does face some challenges when bowling. One of her biggest challenges is her body hurting after many years, and another challenge is what a lot of people would probably have to agree on.
“I would say not getting enough strikes,” Hoffman said.
After doing it competitively for the last time this summer in Las Vegas at Nationals, she is ready to hang up her bowling shoes and will miss the memories and the people from it.
“I will miss the team camaraderie and being with my teammates,” Hoffman said.
