The SHS Choir performed the National Anthem at a recent Tulsa Oilers Hockey game.
Choir director Ms. Raines said she received an email over the summer from the Oilers organization asking if the group wanted to perform.
“They sang very well,” Raines said. “They actually had a carpet down on the ice, so we were able to be down on the ice and sing.”
Sophomore Reagan Bell said the group sang the National Anthem many times and felt prepared. She also said they had a fun experience.
“It was fun because we were out on the ice,” Bell said.
Junior Jenna Stewart said the performance was not the only memorable part of the experience.
“I liked being able to see how hockey games actually work,” Stewart said.
