Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a Hack and Slash spin off of the iconic series, Metal Gear Solid, created by Hideo Kojima. In the story Raiden, our main character, travels across the world with a new Cyborg body to take down the company World Marshal and its group of mercenaries, all with cybernetic enhancements.
Metal Gear Rising is an extremely difficult game, even on easy mode. Like most Hack and Slash games, there’s only one way to block attacks, parrying. This game’s parrying mechanics are much more difficult than other games I’ve played, the timing for the parry is so precise that it makes it extremely hard to get it right. There are also plenty of attacks that stun you, making fighting back or defending completely impossible.
One of the best parts of this game is the comedy. You’ve probably seen tons of memes from this game without even realizing. If you’ve ever heard the phrase “Memes, the DNA of the soul,” that’s Metal Gear Rising. There are so many ridiculous lines that don’t fit in at all but make the game hilarious.
And, just like other Hack and Slash games, the soundtrack is absolutely amazing. This game brought some great songs into the world that you can listen to over and over. All this said, if you’re looking for a new game with lots of action, comedy, and a great soundtrack, you should absolutely check out Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
