The Stillwater Baseball team is hosting regionals for the second year in a row starting Wednesday or Thursday at Couch Park.
The Pioneers beat Bixby 3-1 on Thursday to become District Champions and guaranteed themselves a higher seed going into Regionals. Head Coach Marty Lees said it’s a great opportunity to host.
“I think it’s a good idea to host because we have 4 teams here, it’s a great crowd. We feature a good baseball team,” Coach Lees said.
Coach Lees said consistency is the key to taking the win.
“Consistent pitching, throwing strikes and playing great defense like we have been all year,” Lees said.
First baseman Easton Ventris said he likes their chances at regionals.
“If we keep playing how we are now we will have a really good chance,” Ventris said.
Outfield/Pitcher Bryson Mitchell said the team has done a really good job this season.
“At the start of the year we were 1-2. After the first 3 games we figured it out,” Mitchell said.
