Thousands came together at Boone Pickens Stadium for four nights of music and fun as the Boys from Oklahoma concert lit up the stage in April.
Fans filled the venue, enjoying live performances, local food, and the buzz of the Midway, including Stillwater High School students.
“It was really fun and nice to see the atmosphere with everyone,” Junior Timber Essary said. “There was a band playing outside the stadium before the concert started, and people were tossing beach balls around the crowd. It was well organized, and I’d love to see another event like this—maybe at least every five years. I went with a friend and even ran into her family there.”
Leadership teacher Ms. Turner attended the concert one night and described the night as iconic, historic and collaborative. She said she loved the sound of the live instruments and being surrounded by people who shared her love of music.
“It was just fun hearing the songs live and spending time with people who get it,” Turner said.
English teachers Mr. and Ms. Barney also went to one of the concerts and had a great time.
“I listened to music, hung out and saw friends from Texas,” Ms. Barney said.
Her favorite part of the night was clear.
“The Troubadours, for sure.” Barney called the night “amazing” and added, “They should definitely do it again.”
From the performances to the crowd energy, it was a night to remember for Oklahoma music fans.
