Stillwater High School students sold their art pieces they created in class through an art gallery at Modella Gallery downtown last Spring.
Students are given the option to price their items anywhere from one to more than a million dollars, said Ms. Peters, one of the high school art teachers.
“It’s all for sale, but I will say that all of the students priced their own work,” Peters said. “So there are pieces ranging from one dollar to a hundred million dollars.”
All the projects are pieces that students have made themselves, and all the money goes back to them.
“I’m not making anything, it’s all student work,” Peters said “The money goes back to the students.”
Sophomore Celine Taybah was an Art I student last year and said art is a fantastic way to get to know others and express yourself.
“Art makes me feel free and happy,” Taybah said.
Angilina Carter priced some of her work at the art gallery.
“I made a watercolor painting and priced it for fifteen dollars,” said Carter.
