Lights. Camera. Action. When the curtains open and the play begins, the culmination of months of hard work is on display.
It’s the Stillwater High School Tech Crew’s time to shine.
Tech Crew teacher Mr. Shanks said the students practice every night for the three weeks leading up to a production.
“[The importance of Tech Crew] is seen in all the hard work they put into having the plays and projects,” Shanks said.
During the performance, the tech crew is responsible for the sound and light boards, moving things on and off stage and assisting people in the lobby, he said.
One member of Tech Crew is senior Eric Fagan. Fagan has been a part of the group for the last two years.
“My friend told me about it, and I’ve been in it ever since,” he said.
Sophomore Jenna Christian is one of the actors in the upcoming play, Stardust. She said Tech Crew is important to the production of every play.
“Without them, we wouldn’t be able to have the play, or any of the props,” Christian said. “They wouldn’t have lights or mics [without Tech Crew].”
Students are able to see the Tech Crew’s hard work at the next production called Stardust, which will have several shows in November.
