Ms. Ziegler’s Advanced Acting class performed the play And Others at the high school last Friday night.
The play follows the main character Amanda, played by senior Julius Cundiff, as she navigates her dissociative identity disorder through the retelling of her past.
“My favorite part [of the play] is whenever I’m telling the story of my past and why I am the way I am,” Cundiff said.
Cundiff has been involved in musical theatre for about six years now and really enjoys being able to put themselves in a character’s shoes.
“I get to broaden my horizons on the human experience,” Cundiff said.
The class chose the play at the end of August and started rehearsals in November. As well as being student-directed and designed, the actors put in all the work from costumes, characters and the set.
“This show involves all cast members on stage for the entirety of the show, which allows for the challenge of constant characterization,” Ms. Ziegler said. “I love seeing how the students keep the characters engaged throughout.”
