The SHS Cheer team is prepping for NCA High School Nationals in Dallas on January 24-26 by honing in on their skills and perfecting their routine. The SHS Cheer team plans to have the perfect routine that lands them the win.
After previously getting zero deductions on their last virtual competition, the team has the hope that with continued practice their routine will be the best it can be, junior Katherine Waits said.
“We’re constantly hitting our skills for the routine.” Waits said.
With practices almost every day, the cheer team is switching things up from last year’s routine with the removal of gameday and the readdition of tumbling. By bringing back tumbling, they hope to show off a skill missing from the previous year’s routine.
“It’s a lot more achievable for everyone based on our skill levels and talents we have,” senior Cheer Captain Alison Duhon said.
