Brandy is one of the most important and influential R&B artists of the 90s. According to the Los Angeles Times, she influenced Ariana Grande, Rihanna and Sam Smith. True Exclusives interviewed Jazmin Sullivan, who said, “Brandy is the top influence on all R&B.”
“Never Say Never” was Brandy’s second album. The album was released on June 9, 1998 and consists of 16 songs. It debuted at number 3 on the U.S. Billboard 200 Charts and later peaked at number 2. It remained in the charts for 28 weeks. Her most popular songs on the album were “The Boy Is Mine,” “Have You Ever” and “Top Of The World.”
This album is one of my favorites because it represents R&B very well. My favorite songs on the album are “Learn the Hard Way,” “Angel In Disguise” and “The Boy is Mine.” Learning the Hard is one of my favorites because I can relate to it. Angel in Disguise is another one of my favorites because of the vocals. The Boy is Mine is my favorite because Monica is featured in the song, and the two singers’ vocals mix very well together.
If I were to rate the album I would give it a 10. I would recommend this album to anyone.
