In a milestone four years in the making, Senior Taylor Rattay secured 1,000 career digs, cementing her status as one of Stillwater High School’s all-time defensive standouts.
Rattay said that this is a huge milestone for her and she has been working extremely hard for this accomplishment. This achievement proves that her hard work for the past four years did not go to waste.
“It means a lot because I have been playing volleyball for a long time and have always wanted to be as good as I can be,” Rattay said. “Achieving this puts it into perspective of how hard I have worked.”
Rattay has been playing sports her whole life, but started her volleyball journey at the age of 12.
“I have been playing for about 6 years,” Rattay said. “I started when I was 12 and have played since.”
Rattay has always been a positive teammate on and off the court, Taylor’s sister sophomore Sloane Rattay said. She added that she always brings the team good positive energy.
“Taylor is great, she is very positive and a great person to have on the team.” Sloane Rattay said.
Head Coach Andrue Brown said Taylor Rattay was an easy option for being picked as team captain, the way she leads her team, and the way that the younger girls look up to her.
“That was pretty easy, Taylor checked every single box that you need in a captain,” Brown said. “It is always a senior, and not a single underclassmen didn’t leave Taylor off of their ballot.”
