Beta Club members volunteered at this month’s spotlight, Our Daily Bread.
Beta Club members helped out by shopping for people and anything else they need to do. One of those members was Senior Nikki Pitts.
“We volunteer for service hours like shop and whatever else they need us to do,” Pitts said.
Beta Club’s Vice President Addison Edwards wants to enforce the fact that food insecurity is a real concern throughout the community.
“Our goal is to raise awareness of food insecurity in the student body and to help our community,” Edwards said.
Coach Andrue Brown, Beta Club Co-Sponsor, said he hopes kids will learn from this and take this experience into the real world.
“I hope that this opens a door to continue to serve and volunteer in the communities as our students graduate and move on,” Brown said. “The world needs more people who are willing to meet the needs of others. Serving and sacrifice tends to fill the heart and nurture the soul.”
