Two volleyball players reached significant goals during a successful season this year.
Senior Taylor Rattay has made 100 career aces, and junior Jessica Fahlenkamp has made 100 career blocks.
“It’s an honor,” Rattay said. “I have been on Varsity since sophomore year, and to have gotten better and getting that record senior year just reminds me of my accomplishments.”
Lady Pioneer Head Coach Andrue Brown has lead the team through their successful season and helped them toward their wins. Brown has been the head coach or five years now, and has coached Rattay for all of her high school career.
“Taylor has always been the heartbeat of our team,” Brown said. “ So anything she can do to help the team just fuels us.”
Fahlenkamp has also made a significant accomplishment by setting a school record for six solo career blocks in a single game against Piedmont. Fahlenkamp has played volleyball since her sophomore year.
“I was surprised,” she said. “I knew it was getting up there, but surprised.”
