Stillwater High School’s FCCLA chapter has teamed up with a company called We Help To to sell socks for water filtration systems in third world countries.
The President of FCCLA, Ally Aguilar, said selling these socks can benefit people that might not have accessible water filtration systems.
“This helps students that might not have the advantages of others, it helps support them, our chapter, and third world countries that might need water,” Aguilar said.
Laura Bennett, a member of FCCLA, said she visited the National Leadership Conference in the summer and got the sock idea from the conference.
“The organization’s name is We Help To,” she said. “They donate water wells to people in third world countries that don’t have water. Every three pairs of socks bought, they donate one pair to the people there.”
FCCLA Sponsor Ms. Jody Webber said if students want to purchase socks, go to Ms. Kenzie Camp’s room or Ms. Webber’s room.
“Some are funny, some are fuzzy, some have traction, some are regular functional socks,” Webber said.
