The Stillwater baseball program built a deck behind the left field fence in January.
Bryce Scalf, the new head baseball coach, is played a large role in this project. Scalf built the deck himself alongside volunteers from the baseball program in order to bring excitement to the upcoming season.
“This project will have a positive impact on our program by having live energy support from students coming and watching our team play,” Scalf said. “This will bring a fun atmosphere in the outfield where fans can be loud and enjoy watching a game.”
Senior baseball player Luke Kirkpatrick is excited about the deck and the culture that it can potentially bring. Kirkpatrick said he and his teammates can’t wait for it to be done.
“The team couldn’t be more ecstatic,” Kirkpatrick said. “It’s going to be big for the program. The players will love it just as much as the fans.”
Junior Bryson Brown, who attends baseball games, said he thinks the new deck will draw more high school students to the games.
“Yes, I think they will attract other students and myself to more games,” Brown said.
