One of Stillwater High School’s newest clubs has had a great first year at the school. Slime Club was started by Stillwater High School senior Lucie Sartin.
Sartin decided to start Slime Club earlier this year.
“I thought it would be fun, and I just love slime,” Sartin said.
She was able to get science teacher Luz Hoover to sponsor the club. Hoover said she knew Sartin had wanted to start the club for a while, and she would sponsor it as long as they were able to find members.
“It seemed like a really fun way to relieve stress while at school,” Hoover said.
Senior Selene Flores, a friend of Sartin and fellow member of Slime Club, has also enjoyed being a part of this new club.
“I’ve made lots of new friends,” Flores said.
Slime Club has been a good learning experience for Sartin.
When asked about the biggest surprise or learning experience from slime club so far, Sartin said, “There have been complications with slime because slime is like a science.”
Sartin said when they have a slime fail, she works to figure out why in order to fix them for the next meetings. Hoover added that students will tell her what kind of slime they want to make, and she gets the supplies.
“I didn’t know there were so many intricacies to making slime,” Hoover said. “Watching how much fun students had while making slime and hearing some new terminology has been a lot of fun.”
