The Lady Pioneer softball team made a incredible comeback yesterday, scoring nine runs in the bottom of the 7th inning against Broken Arrow in the second game of regionals that ended with a score of 16-15.
Head Coach Linsenmeyer was excited about the win.
“I’ve never been a part of a comeback like that,” she said. “We were down by 14.”
It was a 15-1 Broken Arrow in the 3rd inning. Then, at the top of the 6th inning, Stillwater was down 15-7. At the bottom of the 7th, the Pioneers had the bases loaded when Madeline Thomas had the game-winning hit.
The win over Broken Arrow was the second game of the day for the Lady Pioneers. They run-ruled Booker T. Washington 14-0 in their first game.
Stillwater will play the winner of Broken Arrow vs. Norman today at 2 p.m. If they win, they get to punch their ticket to state, but if they lose they play again at 4 p.m. in an elimination game.
